It was amazing to see the number of people who came along to our coffee morning, held in the church hall, to raise funds for Kitega. We would like to give a massive thank you to those who donated their time to help throughout the morning and to those who provided some home baking – it was delicious!
Also at the coffee morning Olivia Shields (Lynne’s daughter) organised a Ugandan bead making table with some information about Kitega Centre that people could look at while eating their cakes. There were pictures about the places we will see and children we are hoping to meet.
Bags of coffee were kindly donated by Inverness Coffee Roasting Company to sell throughout the morning as well as tablet, cards and knitwear.
One of the main events was the ‘Bake off’ competition for adults and children. Each individual baked their own special cake that was judged by expert tasters in order to win champion baker of day. All the cakes were amazing and it was a tough decision to make. All the winner greatly received their prize.
Thank you to Gordon, Margaret and Lilian for their help to organise the event.
Linda read out an inspirational letter from Kitega and John gave the crowd a brief overview about Kitega and the Riverside Team.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their morning and the cakes!
